ROMEO FRESCURA 

discende da una delle mitiche famiglie che fondarono l'industria Ottica Cadorina.

Nel 1934 conseguì uno dei primi "Diplomi di Ottico" rilasciati in Italia (Legge del 1928-Regolamento del 1931).

Nel 1935 aprì il suo primo negozio di ottica ad Asti che lasciò in gestione al fratello maggiore quando fu assunto nel negozio di Ottica " Viganò" di Piazzale Cordusio a Milano nel quale si occupava, quasi esclusivamente degli esami della vista.

Dal 1939 al 1942 si fece una certa fama tanto che lo assunse, per fare gli esami della vista, il negozio "Berry" in Via Roma a Torino, di proprietà del Comm. Ratti, fondatore della fabbrica di occhiali "Meflecto" a cui si aggiunse in seguito il marchio "Persol".

Frescura si trasferì ad Asti con la famiglia.

La guerra e i bombardamenti delle linee ferroviarie resero molto difficile ed insicuro recarsi tutti i giorni a Torino e Frescura nel 1943 decise di ritornare ad Asti riprendendo le redini del suo primo negozio aperto nella Città del Palio.

Successivamente lo cedette  al figlio Ugo, appena tornato dal servizio militare, e si trasferì a Imperia.

In occasione di uno scambio di corrispondenza a causa di un "progetto di legge" che avrebbe tolto agli ottici anche il diritto di prescrivere le correzioni della presbiopia e della miopia,  incontrò Jean Thiriart e da quel contatto nacque la S.O.E.

(Società d'Optometria d'Europa).

Descendant d'une des familles légendaires qui fondèrent l'industrie Optique du Cadore (Nord-Est de l'Italie), Romeo Frescura reçut, en 1934, un des premiers "Diplôme d'Opticien" délivrés en Italie (Loi de 1928  Règlement de 1931).

 En 1935, il ouvrit son premier magasin d'Optique à Asti, Piémont, dont il confia la gestion à son frère aîné lorsqu'il fut engagé par le magasin d'optique "Vigano" de Piazzale Cordusio à Milan, où il s'occupait quasi exclusivement des examens de la vue.

 De 1939 à 1942, il gagna une telle réputation qu'il fut engagé, pour faire les examens de la vue, par la maison "Berry" dans la Via Roma à Turin, magasin appartenant au Comm. Ratti, fondateur de l'usine de lunettes "Meflecto" à laquelle s'ajouta par la suite la marque "Persol".

Romeo Frescura s'installa alors à Asti avec sa famille.

La guerre et les bombardements des lignes ferroviaires rendant très difficiles et dangereux les trajets quotidiens vers Turin, Romeo Frescura décida donc, en 1943, de rentrer à Asti pour y reprendre les rênes de son premier magasin ouvert dans la cité du Palio.

Par la suite, il céda son magasin à son fils Ugo, à peine rentré du service militaire, et se transféra définitivement à Impéria.

Suite à un échange de correspondance en raison d'un "projet de loi" qui aurait enlevé aux opticiens même le droit de prescrire les corrections de la presbytie et de la myopie, il rencontra Jean Thiriart et de ce contact naquit la S.O.E.

(Société d'Optométrie d'Europe). 

Romeo Frescura descended from a family who founded the legendary Spectacles Frames Industry "Cadorina" in Northern Italy.
